All About Skin Tightening.
Radiothermoplasty Skin Tightening
Radiothermoplasty is a popular and effective treatment of loose skin, facial lines + wrinkles, cellulite, and Acne. It’s a totally non-invasive treatment that uses a small handheld device to deliver controlled amounts of radiofrequency (RF) energy into the collagen producing layers of skin, which causes a heating action that immediately tightens skin tissue and structures.
How does it work?
Collagen is a protein molecule that operates as a basic structural support for many parts of the body, including the skin. As we age, collagen depletes and causes sagging skin, wrinkles and fine lines.
The RF energy triggers the production of collagen, which is a process that takes place over a period of 6 months tightens loose and sagging skin.
Some people will notice an improvement immediately or within a few days, although best results are seen within 6 months and will continue to enhance for up to 12 months. Others may only see improvement after 2-3 months.
What happens during the treatment?
Your practitioner will manipulate settings to suit the area being treated and the results desired. The length of the procedure depends on the size of the area being treated, but will generally last from 10 to 40 minutes. You may feel a mild to intense heat, and in some rare cases discomfort as the RF is infused deep into the skin layers.
Normally the treated area will stay red between 10-90 minutes, and the skin can be dry over the next 24-48 hours.
